Today we have a guest post from Moore From Katie. While I have some tips for Pregnant Mothers, she has some others! Everyone has their own journey though pregnancy. I hope these tips help you too!
Pregnancy is an exciting time for
a woman that requires huge amounts of your body's resources. Giving your baby
the best possible start in life begins in the womb, so leading a healthy
lifestyle is more important now than ever. Luckily, you can do this in a
variety of simple, stress-free ways.
1. Doctor
Visits
As your pregnancy progresses, you
will be spending more and more time at your doctor’s office for appointments to
monitor your health as well as the baby’s development. These appointments are a
great time to ask your doctor any questions you may have concerning any changes
you’d like to make during your pregnancy, as well as questions concerning
delivery and post-delivery. If you’d like to change your diet, are concerned
about pain management during delivery or want to learn more about optional
procedures like umbilical cord blood banking,
your doctor appointments are the best place to find the answers.
2. Prenatal Vitamins
If you're pregnant, you know it's
recommended to take
a quality prenatal vitamin. Since the nutrients in vitamins are synthetic
forms they aren't absorbed as well as their natural counterparts. There is something
that you can do about that, though. When taking vitamins, it is best to take
them with food. This is because the naturally occurring vitamins and minerals
present in the food will facilitate improved absorption of the synthetic
versions.
3. Quality Sleep
Your body saves some of the most
intensive restorative processes for when you're asleep. At this time, large
amounts of human growth hormone is released, which factors into your baby's
development and your body's ability to adapt to the changes. When sleep quality
suffers, this process is disrupted. You also wake up feeling fatigued and are
more likely to feel stressed out and irritated by things that are usually
relatively benign. Things like exercise, warm baths, cool bedroom temperatures
and white noise machines White Noise Machines can all help you sleep more deeply.
4. Physical Fitness
Despite society's prevailing
perceptions, pregnant women are not so delicate that they should avoid physical
activity. Obviously, intense and strenuous exercise is not recommended, but light
to moderate exercise can provide great benefits for both mother and baby. It
helps keep hormone levels in the proper balance, improves blood flow,
strengthens the muscles and improves energy. Exercise
also prevents obesity, which can have serious consequences for a mother and
her baby.
5. Aromatherapy
As you may be well aware at this
point, there aren't many medications, either prescription or over the counter,
that a pregnant woman can take with complete safety. That makes things really
difficult when you've got a splitting headache, persistent nausea or are having
a hard time falling asleep at night. Fortunately, aromatherapy Aromatherapy provides an
enjoyable and totally safe method of relaxation and headache control. Scent is
an incredibly powerful thing that has the ability to drastically alter your
mood. Best of all, it's portable. You can conveniently use aromatherapy oils
and herbs in Bed, at work, during school or in the car.
6. Massage
Most everyone is aware of the
healing power of massage. This popular form of medicine has been around since
time immemorial and has been used traditionally by many cultures. Massage also
serves as an invaluable form of stress reduction, pain management and
relaxation for pregnant women. Pregnancy comes with a lot of tight muscles,
sore joints, stress and other side effects, all of which can be managed with
the aid of an experienced pair of hands.
With all of this advice,
maintaining a healthy pregnancy that will lead you into motherhood with a
healthy baby should be an enjoyable experience.
